THE OPPORTUNITY: 

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer, or depending on experience, a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the Projects Team with technical reviewing, management, budgeting and delivery of Engineering design, as well as proposing concepts and strategies to assist in further mine, processing plant and NPI expansions.

This role will report to the Development Lead E&I, will be engaged on a casual (Monday to Friday) arrangement and will be based at our West Perth office.  There will be ad hoc travel required to our Pilgangoora Operation in the Pilbara region.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Development Leads in ensuring projects are completed as per the requirements and specifications of the project.  This may include scopes ranging from greenfield and brownfields projects across process plants, power generation/distribution and instrumentation and control systems. 
  • Responsible for the coordination and management of engineering design to ensure that design technical and quality standards are achieved within allocated time and budget.
  • Responsible for the coordination and management of equipment procurement, including tender, evaluation, award and expediting delivery.
  • Assist in the preparation of installation contract scope of works and commercial tender reviews.
  • Contribute to estimating and scheduling components of works execution planning.
  • Provide technical design and technical oversight to project execution phase including management of technical queries and engineering consultants.
  • Project quality management, including frequent inspections both on site & vendor factories.
  • Assist in site project commissioning and operational handover.
  • Travel to our operational site in the Pilbara region required from time to time.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3-5 Years Electrical & Instrumentation design engineering experience with strong technical skills for the Electrical Engineer role, or 7+ years experience for the Senior role.
  • Strong Technical skills & experience with HV, LV & Instrumentation design.
  • Construction or commissioning experience highly regarded.
  • Previous experience in commercial contract management.
  • Knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to the processes.
  • Strong communication skills with people at all levels in the organisation.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and Familiar with ETAP, Digsilent or similar software.
  • Takes personal ownership over completion of tasks.
  • WA C class driver’s license.
