THE OPPORTUNITY: 

 

Reporting to the Group Manager Risk and Compliance, the Principal Risk and Assurance will provide hands on support to the Company’s Enterprise Risk and Assurance program with a primary focus on risk interfacing with all departments across the business.

 

This is a permanent full-time (Monday to Friday) based at our West Perth office, just next to the City West train station. Responsibilities for this role include:

 

Enterprise Risk Management

  • Assisting departments with risk development, control design and risk treatment plans
  • Facilitating risk workshops as/when required
  • Managing the company’s risk management software platform (CGRTM)
  • Driving the annual update of the risk framework inclusive of recommendations for continual improvement
  • Preparing data analysis and develop reports for inclusion in regular reporting processes
  • Presenting and informing the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and/or Board on key risk matters as required.
  • Improving risk maturity across the Company through a continual improvement process
  • Monitoring the external environment for emerging risk and proactively report

 

Compliance

  • Assisting with facilitating delivery of half yearly department compliance performance reports and reporting to for the ELT and Audit and Risk Committee
  • Conducting independent Compliance related investigations as/when required and reporting on findings

 

Internal Audit

  • Assisting with the management of the Company internal audit plan and coordination of external consultants that would be required from time to time

Insurance

  • Coordinating the management of key major project insurances for principal controlled programs
  • Providing feedback on insurance departures from a risk management perspective

General

  • Assisting with Department improvement program that seeks to deploy process initiatives to continually improve and mature the Department.
  • Assisting with department reporting requirements (monthly, quarterly)

 

 

ABOUT YOU:

  • Senior and well experienced professional who has demonstrated experience at a senior level operating at all levels and ability to interface at Executive and Board level where required.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years operational risk related experience
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to develop strong working relationships across all areas of the business, including the board of directors
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to deliver a consistently high standard of work
  • A self-starter and willing to “roll up sleeves” when needed
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft suite of products
  • Tertiary qualifications in Risk Management highly regarded or any other relevant discipline (eg: finance, commerce, law) will be considered
