THE OPPORTUNITY: 

Reporting to the Principal Health and Medical Services, the Senior Injury Management Advisor plays a key role in medical centre resource management and leads the injury management process, by providing expert case management of injuries and illnesses, as well as fitness for work cases.

This is a Permanent (fixed term) Full Time position which operates from our West Perth Office, covering parental leave for 12 months.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Management of site medical contracting resources for Operational Medical Centres
  • Case management of all Pilbara Minerals employees engaged in the workers compensation claim process.
  • Provision of holistic support to individuals with complex health conditions, including psychological conditions.
  • Coordination of return to work of injured persons, including persons not engaged in the workers compensation process.
  • Maintaining comprehensive case management records, including Injury Management notes, communications, and medical reports.
  • Investigate facts of injury/illness to determine appropriate classification in accordance with Pilbara Minerals Injury Classification Guideline
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders, such as human resources, line management, insurers, vocational rehab providers, specialist medical services, onsite medical teams, and travel administrators, to optimise injury recovery outcomes.
  • Provide reporting and regular updates to key operational stakeholders on cases managed in the injury management process.
  • Liaise with our contracting partners to ensure that injuries are managed, and Pilbara Minerals return to work processes are followed.
  • Gather evidence required for reporting to regulator for all reportable injuries.
  • Contribute to health improvement projects in line with the health and safety strategy of Pilbara Minerals.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Tertiary qualification in an allied health profession (E.g., Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Physiotherapy, Registered Nurse).
  • Professional registration with AHPRA, ASORC, ESSA or other suitable allied health governing body.
  • Minimum 3 years mining industry experience.
  • Knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to the processes.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of WA’s Workers’ Compensation system and legislation
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety and the environment.
