THE OPPORTUNITY: 

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor is responsible for providing strong leadership to a team of electrical and instrumentation maintenance technicians, providing guidance on best practice and ensuring all safety and maintenance targets are met in accordance with regulations, standards, processes and guidelines. You will be a true advocate of the organisational values.

This is a permanent full-time position which operates on a FIFO 8/6, day shift roster from Perth or DIDO from Port Hedland.  

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Act as the In-House Electrical Installing Work Licence Nominee as nominated by the     Resident Manager.
  • Monitor compliance with Australian Electrical Standards and the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of PLS safety and environmental policies and maintain an understanding of the main principles.
  • Report any situation, event or incident that has affected or has the potential to harm the environment to management, the Senior OHS Advisor or the Resident Manager.
  • Support procedures and work practices aimed at preventing accidents or injuries.
  • Regularly audit team’s work environment and promote a high level of safety awareness.
  • Actively participating in safety meetings and follow-up or feedback on issues raised are undertaken in an effective manner.
  • Identifying workplace hazards and taking appropriate corrective actions.
  • Support HSE initiatives raised by the work crew.
  • Supervise and provide technical support across the mine infrastructure, including the fixed processing plant and the mine accommodation camp
  • Fault finding control circuits, loop checks, mechanical checks on electrical equipment and assessing the impact on production, plant and equipment
  • Manage the effect on unplanned work against the weekly schedule and ensure that weekly PM’s are completed in accordance to plan
  • Provide a feedback loop to the Lead Maintenance Planner on all maintenance activities
  • Manage daily activities in PRONTO including raising PO’s, requisitioning stock, raising and closing work orders
  • Participate in KPI tracking and improvement actions
  • Provide coaching for operational staff in maintenance practices and ensure appropriately structured, capable operating team with the skills required to sustain the maintenance team

 

ABOUT YOU:

  • WA ‘A’ Grade Electrical licence.
  • Cert IV Instrumentation Qualification.
  • HV Switching Operator Competency.
  • WA C class drivers’ licence.
  • PRONTO experience highly regarded
  • Root Cause Analysis knowledge / experience highly regarded.
  • Minimum 5 years previous experience in supervisory role.
  • Previous experience in electrical maintenance on Fixed Plant Processing Facility.
  • 10-15 years electrical experience.
  • Knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to the processes.
  • Systematic planning skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems.
  • PLC/Scada experience highly regarded
  • Electrical Engineering Degree/Diploma highly regarded
  • Cert III Instrumentation Qualification highly regarded
