THE OPPORTUNITY: 

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Shutdown Coordinator is responsible for

This is a permanent full-time position which operates on a FIFO 8/6 roster from Perth or DIDO from Port Hedland.  

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop scope for all mechanical, electrical & site services work requirements, to be executed by the Maintenance, Operations and Metallurgy teams during planned plant outages.
  • Assist Shutdown Planners with the scheduling and development of task details planned for outage including but not limited to preventative planned maintenance tasks (overhauls, replacements, servicing), preventative maintenance (inspections, lubrication, condition monitoring) and continuous improvement projects to improve plant performance.
  • Assist Shutdown Planners in development of shutdown forecast costs and proposed outage scope for approval.
  • Assist Maintenance Superintendent – Shutdowns and provide feedback relating to schedule and scope compliance.
  • Develop Shutdown Work packs & relevant QA data.
  • Provide clear instructions to Shutdown teams and contractors regarding job scope, job details, work methods timeframes and allow for adequate feedback.
  • Regularly update the Maintenance Superintendent- Shutdowns on Shutdown Framework progress and constraints with a solution focused mindset
  • Aid in the review of BOMs and spares to ensure adequate spares are held in stock for maintenance activities.
  • Obtaining sufficient quotes to establish industry competitive offers are being made by equipment and service providers.
  • Providing updates on budget spend (Forecast and Actual) for each planned shutdown outage to Maintenance Superintendent - Shutdowns.
  • Regularly evaluating the labour requirements and key contract partners to achieve intended work program.
  • Ensure Equipment identified as at risk by Engineers / condition monitoring program is included in Shutdown execution scope.
  • Order equipment and consumables not held as stock items through the store as part of work task planning

ABOUT YOU:

  • Mining industry experience in the maintenance planning area.
  • Knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to the processes.
  • Strong organisational and systematic planning skills.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
  • Good knowledge of statutory safety requirements with a commitment to safety and the environment
  • Proficient in the use of Pronto and MS Office suite, including Project
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Current WA C-class driver’s licence
  • Relevant trade or engineering qualification desirable, but not essential
